Membership Benefits

There follows some brief details outlining the benefits of joining our club.

  • A weekly training run takes place every Tuesday from John Bright School. There is no weekly fee.
  • Shower facilities the club has an agreement for members to use the shower facilities and changing rooms at John Bright Leisure Centre every Tuesday night.
  • The Nick Beer 10km Road Race every February the club organized the Nick Beer 10km Road Race around the Great Orme. This is a hugely successful race. We expect members to assist with the marshalling of the event as it is important in raising the profile of the club and raising funds. New members are permitted to run the race once.
  • Summer Relay every August a fun team relay is organized along the North Shore promenade in Llandudno with a meal of sausage and chips afterwards.
  • Christmas Handicap every December, just before Christmas we organize a handicapped short race along the North Shore promenade in Llandudno, followed by a buffet.
  • Club Championship (road races) for the running season the club selects approximately 16 local races to form the championship, with your best five short and three long times to count including your best Parkrun,Marathon and a selection of off road races. This is divided into groups based on ability, so slower runners have an equal chance of winning awards we monitor the groups closely.
  • Insurance members are also covered by insurance when on an activity organized by the club, this includes training on a Tuesday, races when representing the club but does not cover members outside these conditions. We welcome both competitive and social runners.
  • London Marathon Place every year we are allocated by ballot a  ‘Club Place’ for the London Marathon.
  • Communication we keep up to date with members via regular emails and the club  Facebook page .  All memebrs need an email adress to register with the club/Welsh Athletics.
  • Awards Dinner Every year the club hosts an annual awards function and presentation. The cost of the function  is subsidised for members. A number of awards are given at the event.
  • Meetings The club committee meets at least 4 times a year to discuss all club issues. If any member has any suggestion or questions they can contact any member of the committee.. AGM – The AGM of the club is held in September every year. We strongly urge all members to attend, as it is members voice that forms how the club operates.

As a club, we are driving towards paperless membership as far as possible.
